Kathstone is a small kennel project started by Mrs. Kathrine Lesaca Johansen, Gjøvik and Mr. Stein-Ole Kjær, Hamar.

Our goal is to breed healthy and happy whippets both as family pets and for dog shows.

The Whippet is a fantastic family dog. It will soon find its natural place in the centre of the family. A whippet is by nature a dog that enjoy to be close to its owners. The whippet would rather find a place in a chair, a sofa or even occupy the family bed, than be placed on the floor. 

The whippet is an easy dog to train. It will soon learn simple commands, learn its way around the agility course and is good to follow tracks. The whippet is a notorious food thief and this probably why whippet owners is so good at putting food back where it belongs after family meals.

Most whippets are very active. They are curious and will investigate everything that is reachable  - and even what isn’t reachable too. Some puppies learns very soon how to get through closed doors or into closed cupboards, while other puppies doesn’t care about such activities at all. They find life wonderful as long as they get their food and that they have a warm comfy place to sleep - could easily be your lap.
